Dr Laurie Hammond at the Emergency Management Conference 2014
Utilisation is everything – that was the key message from Chairman of the Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC, Dr Laurie Hammond, when he presented the CRC’s national research program at the Emergency Management Conference (EMC) in early July 2014.
Dr Hammond gave an overview of the major research areas and spoke about how the key research questions had developed in recent years.
EMC is an annual conference presented by the Emergency Services Foundation.
Several other CRC people spoke including researchers (Dr Jim McLennan and Dr Christine Eriksen), an end-user leader (John Schauble) and a Board member (Craig Lapsley).
The Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC was busy with a display in the exhibition area that attracted much interest from the conference participants.
The conference was at the Pullman Hotel Melbourne, Albert Park..
