Thank you for the hard work and activity
As 2017 comes to a close it is once again time to wish everyone a very big thank you for all the hard work and activity that has seen the CRC deliver on its research and several major events. These are clearly starting to have an impact on our communities.
All of the research groups - the traditional researchers and the end-user teams - have made great progress, with many tangible outcomes already making a difference. We clearly demonstrated much of this at our Research Driving Change Showcase event mid year. If you missed that all the presentations and some of the recordings are available here and well worth a revisit.
All partners in the CRC will this week be sent Highlights and Achievements 2013-2017, a publiction providing a high-level summary of our research, utilisation and engagement activities. In a departure from the usual annual report format, this report is an overview of the first four years of the CRC’s eight-year funding period, based around the projects, the people and the organisations that contributed to the overall success of the centre.
Looking back is always good, as one quite often forgets to celebrate the great successes. But it is also important to not lose sight of what is still ahead of us. Three and a half years of our funding term remains. The ongoing demonstration of our value is paramount. Also during this time the Board and the management team will be squarely putting plans together to continue the national capability and capacity that we have built over the last four and a half years.
There is still a lot to do, but this is a great CRC by just about any measure. I put this down to the great partnerships and connections that we have in place. So I know we will continue to exceed expectations and make Australia and New Zealand safer and more disaster resilient.
I wish you and your families a very happy and safe Christmas and a wonderful New Year, and I will see you all next year.
